A massive drug bust took a dangerous amount of narcotics off the streets.

PULLED OVER FOR SPEEDING

Friday, December 16th, a Ford truck was caught speeding on Highway 59 near Aloe Road in Victoria County. Multiple authorities pulled the truck over and members of the HIDTA Taskforce 'suspected the two occupants were involved in criminal activity.'

 An officer from the Victoria Police Department was called to the scene with his K9. When the pair arrived, the K9 made its rounds and quickly alerted the officer of narcotics in the vehicle.

Authorities initiated a vehicle search and found an astounding amount of drugs. According to the Victoria Sheriff's Office, inside the vehicle officers confiscated "12.4 grams of Xanax (approximately 50 pills), 10 pounds of methamphetamine, and a loaded 9mm handgun along with ammunition."

Another 10 grams of methamphetamine were found in one of the suspect's shoes.

Two suspects inside the vehicle, William Frederick Knapp III, 32, and Jessica Rivas, 35 were arrested and taken to the Victoria County Jail. Both suspects were charged with "Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful possession of a firearm by felons, and unlawful carrying of a firearm."

The more drugs are taken off the streets, the better. Texas is no stranger to drug busts. $600,000 worth of cocaine was hidden inside truck tires while traveling into Texas. Tires are not too uncommon when it comes to hiding narcotics. However, there have been some pretty unique places smugglers have tried to hide drugs. For instance, the Texas border patrol seized 615 pounds of methamphetamine disguised as cleaning supplies.
