Thursday Night Football Recap — Browns Surge Past Bills, 37-24

Brandon Weeden passed for 197 yards and a touchdown in relief of starter Brian Hoyer, and the Browns overcame an early deficit to beat the Buffalo Bills, 37-24, on Thursday night in Cleveland.

Trailing 10-0 after one quarter — and having lost Hoyer to a knee injury — Cleveland (3-2) scored 17 points in the second quarter, including Travis Benjamin's 79-yard punt return for a touchdown, to take a 17-10 lead into halftime.

After Buffalo (2-3) got touchdown runs from C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson to move ahead, 24-17, in the third quarter, Cleveland scored the last 20 points of the game, including T.J. Ward's 44-yard return of an interception thrown by Bills' reserve quarterback Jeff Tuel that sealed the win with 1:44 to play.

Tuel was in the game after Buffalo starter E.J. Manuel suffered a knee injury in the third quarter.

Cleveland wide receiver Josh Gordon caught four passes for 86 yards, including a game-tying touchdown from Weeden late in the third quarter.
