Texas Gov. Has National Guard On Standby For COVID-19 Response Efforts
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has gone ahead and told the public that he has the Texas National Guard on the ready to assist with response efforts for COVID-19. This means that the Texas National Guard will be on standby to provide assistance when they are needed. However, Gov. Greg Abbott did state that any Texas National Guard members who are involved, such as healthcare workers and first responders, are exempt from having to be ready for Texas National Guard duty so they can continue working to serve the people of Texas in their respective fields.
