Terrifying Texas Killer Caught on Church Video Still At Large
One of the most chilling cold cases in Texas was caught on camera. Terry Missy Bevers was a fitness trainer in Midlothian, Texas, just south of Dallas. Missy hosted an early morning class at a local church.
DISTURBING CHURCH FOOTAGE
On April 18, 2016, around 4:20 am, Missy, arrived at Creekside Church as she normally did begin setting up for her morning class; however, Missy did not know she was not the only one inside.
Disturbing surveillance footage shows a person wandering around inside the church just minutes before Missy arrived. Dressed in fake tactical police gear the suspect breaks into the church and is seen on video walking around the church.
The suspect is seen walking down the church hallways, opening doors and looking for something- or someone. While police could not identify the suspect's gender, they noticed something very distinctive. The suspect had a very particular walk.
Police later received another video showing a Nissan Altima circling the church the night prior; however, the vehicle or person inside was never identified.
DISCOVERING THE GRUESOME BODY
Around 5 am Missy's class began to arrive, unfortunately, they walked right into a bloody, gruesome scene. Missy's body was laying on the floor, bloody and lifeless. 9-1-1 was called and emergency services quickly arrived. Her body had multiple stab wounds in the chest and head, and showed signs of a struggle, as she tried to fight back and defend herself.
HUSBAND WAS OUT OF TOWN
Police believed Missy was specifically targeted and the suspect had to have known her. Two days after the murder, Missy's husband Brandon Bever arrived back in town after being on a fishing trip with his brother.
BLOOD-SOAKED CLOTHING CONFISCATED
Police began looking into Missy's father-in-law, Randy Bevers, who Missy may have been close with. In a very peculiar discovery, Randy had dropped off a blood-soaked t-shirt at a local dry cleaner just 4 days after the murder.
Randy explained the shirt was soaked with blood after he "There's two shirts with blood on it" "You better believe it, you better believe it if they weren't they would be doing their job. By them doing this it tells me they're being diligent and doing their job....they should be so that's great."
DISMISSED BY POLICE
Many began theorizing Randy could have been someone of importance for multiple reasons. When Randy was seen walking into the police department a chilling detail was discovered; he had a very distinct walk similar to the suspect in the video. Even with public allegations, Brandon and Randy both had alibis and were written off by police and detectives.
While people of interest have floated around police radar, no suspects have been identified to this day.
