Just last week we saw two bailout instances in Victoria in 2 days.  Individuals who were identified as entering the country illegally were apprehended by federal officials.   The person was transporting these individuals could face human smuggling charges. This has been happening all over south Texas!

In response to this developing situation, yesterday, Lavaca County, Texas has declared a state of disaster in response to increasing occurrences of human and drug trafficking in the county. "The ongoing border crisis has resulted in thousands of illegal aliens invading Lavaca County and overwhelming our local, state, and federal law enforcement, This continual violation of our sovereignty and territorial integrity have resulted in vehicle thefts and vast amounts of property damage." You are encouraged to report any and all suspicious activity to the Lavaca County Sheriff's  Office by calling 361-798-2121 or in an emergency, dialing 9-1-1.

An excerpt from the disaster declaration reads:

"the health, life, and property of the residents of Lavaca County are under imminent threat of disaster from the human trafficking occurring on our border with Mexico. The ongoing border crisis has resulted in vast numbers of illegal aliens invading Lavaca County and overwhelming our local, state, and federal law enforcement. Lavaca County will no longer tolerate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our borders to be violated by illegal immigration."

'The County Judge of Lavaca County, Texas has determined that extraordinary measures must be taken to ensure the protection of health, safety, and welfare of county residents.'
