WHAT? Who says NO to Buc-ee's????

Buc-ee's has announced that they have canceled their plans for a mega Buc-ee's in  North Carolina after resistance from the Orange County community of Efland NC.

The North Carolina megastore plan included a 425,000-square-foot development project and a 64,000-square-foot Buc-ee's Travel Center which included 60 dual-sided gas pumps.

But after some serious community opposition, the Orange County Commissioners voted 5-2 to give Buc-ee’s Ltd. officials a list of 'conditions' before a possible county board vote on Feb. 16.

Those 'conditions" lead to Buc'ees removing themselves from the equation altogether.

"Unfortunately, Orange County Commissioners were not receptive to 200 jobs with starting pay of $15 per hour and full benefits, more than $1 million in direct tax revenue and multiple services that would create additional jobs, tax revenue and benefit a sector of the community that has been historically underserved,” Stan Beard, Buc'ees Director of Real Estate offered in a report by Henry Haney of The Daily Tar Heel.

After multiple Efland community members voiced concerns over the environmental impact of a mega-store along with a list of conditions which included minimizing the Buc'ees signs around the outside of the store, Buc-ee's offered in their letter to Efland commissioners, "Orange County is just not the right fit for Buc'ees."

Orange Co. is confident that they will find a better fit for the use of the land in their county.

Maybe it's because we are Texans and Texans are just a proud people, but we LOVE our Buc-ee's! ALL OF THEM!

Efland just doesn't know what they will be missing!

Two words; BEAVER NUGGETS!

Were you guessing, "clean restrooms?"

YA, THOSE TOO!
