(News release--Gonzales Inquirer, Gonzales, Texas) • The Guadalupe River at Gonzales is expected to crest at about 1 p.m. Wednesday at 43 feet — which is classified as major flooding. Conditions could remain flooded until 1 p.m. Thursday.• The river is likely to remain at 43 feet for 3-4 hours then begin receding unless there is more rainfall.
• At 43 feet, Hwy. 183, Hwy. 97 and FM 108 may be impassable in areas near the river with water across the roadway. Secondary roads and streets near the river are flooded and dangerous to motorists.

Issues such as runoff down Tinsley Creek in Gonzales can combine with Guadalupe River backwater to flood lowest homes near the creek.
