Blue Santa and the Victoria Police Department were in the Townsquare Media Studios to invite the Crossroads to join them in not one, but two great Christmas opportunities!

It's always so much fun when these guys (and gals) come to visit.

Thank you to officer Turner and Officer Brogger as well as Santa for taking the time today to talk to us about the Toys for Tots event this Friday at Target from 10 am throughout the day as well as inviting artists of ALL AGES and SKILL LEVEL to decorate Victoria Police Department's annual Christmas cards!

Toys for Tots has an amazing history, founded in  1947 by Marine reservist Major Bill Hendricks. Oorah! Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. You'll see Blue Santa and members of the VPD in front of Target this Friday beginning at 10 am. This year they are looking for two different types of gifts, one is an unwrapped gift for a young boy or girl of any age, and the second is an educational or sensory toy for young children ages birth to 36 months, who are part of the Victoria ECI-Early Childhood Intervention incentive at Region III with learning disabilities or special needs. We hope to see you there!

Calling all artists in the Crossroads community, now is your chance to have your artwork to be featured on a cover, the cover of the VPD Christmas cards! The contest is open to all artists of all ages of any skill level. You just need a 5x7 piece of paper with any medium you choose. The only stipulation is that it's holiday-themed, otherwise it's up to you and your artistic imagination. You can take your 5x7 rendering to the Victoria Police Department at 306 South Bridge Drive or you can bring them here to the Townsquare Media studios at 107 North Star Drive.

Speaking of Christmas, you've got to see this awesome Christmas past gallery!
