Bundle Up Buttercup Snow Is Headed To The Great State of Texas
Looks like snow is on the way to Texas!
After the fluke snowfall on Christmas Eve of 2004 bringing a record 12.5 inches to the Crossroads, South Texans have especially been counting the days until they get to see snow again!
As a South Texan myself, I can account for how ill-prepared we were for the incredible Christmas miracle of snowfall in 2004.
Countless photos of children throughout South Texas wearing socks as gloves surfaced in family albums after that year. It was such an unexpected event, there is ever a coffee table book about it too!
So with socks as gloves, how many Texans would you guess know how to ski?
Well, there are going to need to learn!
It's not just that snow will be falling in Texas soon, it's enough of the white stuff to open an entire ski resort!
Crazy right? A ski resort in Texas?
It's Alpine -X and it's Texas' first indoor ski resort and it looks like it's just around the corner of being built.
You read that right, it's an indoor ski resort with snow blowing in Texas continually!
According to Alpine-X's announcement, they offer a little more insight. "We believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of snowsports, regardless of location or weather. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we have signed a letter of intent with a dynamic partner to co-develop Alpine-X branded resorts in…TEXAS!
"Get ready to ski in a ten-gallon hat because we’re bringing snow year-round to the Lone Star State." Alpine X offers!
. Ssshhh...we hear the first resort will be opening in Dallas.
“Everything’s Bigger in Texas” so our plans for the state are big, too! We’re initially planning to develop at least two resorts in Texas, with the potential for additional properties. We expect to be able to finalize our proposed sites in Texas and announce them in the next few months, Alpine-X offers.
It's getting cold in here, so put on all your clothes!
Yep, Texas is about to see some serious snow! Well, some not-so-serious snow, because a ski resort, or two, in Texas, sounds like nothing but FUN!
See you on the slopes y'all!
