Drunk TX Woman Kills Innocent Driver Just Given 20 Yrs in Prison
23-year-old Kendall Lauren Batchelor, the daughter of established San Antonio car dealer Ken Batchelor was recently handed a hefty prison sentence in a highly viewed trial.
CRASH INSTANTLY KILLS INNOCENT DRIVER
Back in June of 2022, the highly intoxicated Batchelor drove her black Ford F-250 on the wrong side of the road. During this drunken drive, she slammed her truck head-on into a sedan, instantly killing the innocent driver, 49-year-old David Belter.
BATCHELOR'S CHAOTIC HISTORY REVEALED
During the trial, Batchelor admitted she was intoxicated at the time of the fatal crash. However, this was not the first time Batchelor made illegal reckless decisions. Prosecutors revealed that Batchelor has:
- 2 previous DWI charges,
- failed multiple sobriety tests
- received various minor in-possession charges
THE TRUCK WAS DEEMED A DEADLY WEAPON
As the trial continued, the jury determined Batchelor's vehicle was a deadly weapon, which increased the gravity of her charges. The jury deliberated and soon, came back with their ultimate sentence.
HANDING DOWN THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE
Kendall Lauren Batchelor was found guilty and given the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison plus a $10,000 fine. She will not be eligible for parole until she serves a minimum of 10 years in prison.
