CharlieMac Saturday Drink Specials
Do you find yourself with a little extra spending money, a little bit of spare time and not wanting to go anywhere? Times like that call for a good chilllax. Chillaxing is a very important part of our lives. Its where we just take some time for ourselves and do as little as possible. One of the best chillaxing activities is to sit down, watch something and enjoy the moment. Tonight could be a great chillaxing evening for not only you, but your friends or family as well. Invite them over, play host for bit, put on a classic series or movie, and (if you're feeling up to it) play the role of bartender.
Start the night of old shows off with some conversation and homemade drinks. Not sure what to make for the group? That's fine, I may have a few recipes for you that are easy to make, not very time consuming to prep and most of the ingredients can be found in your local liquor store.
Love Wins Cocktail (original source)
1 ½ oz Love Wins Vodka
¾ oz simple syrup
¾ oz lemon juice
Dash club soda
Combine vodka with simple syrup and lemon juice into a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain the mixture into a glass and top it off with club soda. Finally, garnish with strawberries.
Tired of Valentine's Day stuff? Well, let me inform you that Valentine's Day shouldn't hog love. Love should be cherished and shared everyday. However, I can understand if you need a break from "love stuff" and so here is a drink recipe you may like to make instead...
Bee’s Knees Honey Cocktail (original source)
2 oz. gin
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake it up well and then strain into a chilled glass (or a glass with ice).
If you're not a honey fan, or if someone at the party isn't a fan of honey, then you may find this next drink recipe divine:
Seventh Heaven (original source)
1 ¾ ounces gin
½ ounce maraschino liqueur
¼ ounce grapefruit juice
Sprig of fresh mint
Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake well with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. For a tartier flavor, add a little more grapefruit juice (however that is completely optional, but its nice to have options)
Maybe you are wanting something more "desserty" for your evening of chillaxing? Are you a strawberry shortcake fan? Then this is the perfect drink for you:
Strawberry Shortcake Mimosa (original source)
½ c. finely crushed Nilla wafers (like powder-crushed)
2/3 c. strawberry ice cream
10 oz. vanilla vodka
1 bottle Champagne (your choice of brand)
Rim the glass by sliding a sliced strawberry all around it and then dip the glass rim into the Nilla cookie crumbs. Into the glass, add 1 tablespoon strawberry ice cream, then add 1 oz vodka and then add the champagne to fill the rest of the glass. Then top it off with whipped cream, a sprinkle of Nilla crumbs, and a strawberry for garnish.
Hopefully these drinks are what you need for your night of relaxation and chilling out, and if not...well, I hope they at least gave you some good ideas on what do make.
Townsquare Media and KIXS 108 do not condone underage drinking and encourage you to drink responsibly. Have a safe and fun weekend!
