45 Children Rescued in Human Trafficking Sting
I know I normally write about Victoria nostalgia, food, and fun things to do, but here is a topic that I think deserves more coverage. I have seen an increase in missing children's posts on my social feed, so I think this needs to be shared! I know this story is from Ohio, but that doesn't mean that this is not going on in Texas. This problem is widespread accross the Country.
In a story covered by WLWT, Law enforcement agencies across Ohio have had an ongoing investigation this month dubbed "Operation Autumn Hope," Which has lead to the arrest of 179 and the rescue of 45 children. There was a total of 109 human trafficking victims that were rescued and referred to social services. More than 70 missing and exploited children cases were cleared, according to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. This is just the latest of many investigations that have recovered missing children in our Country.
Back in August, there was 'Operation Safety Net' also in Ohio, which led to the discovery of 25 children, 13 to 18 in less than three weeks.
Georgia's recently had 'Operation Not Forgotten' what helped recover 39 children, 3 to 17 years old in August. Nine people were arrested in this operation.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children responded to more than 10,700 reports regarding possible child sex trafficking in 2019, according to the agency's website. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children provided assistance for more than 29,000 cases of missing children. Visit The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's website if you need any more information on this topic.
