Why are YOU on Facebook?

What JACK would like to know is what kind of Facebook user are you?  JACK would appreciate any feedback of why you are using Facebook.

JACK knows there are many different types of Facebook users and he wants to know how you approach it or even how you know others approach it.

• Do you use Facebook to re-connect with old friends you no longer see?
• Do you use Facebook to keep up with current friends’ activities?
• Do you use Facebook to spy on friends to see what they are up to, like divorces, heartbreaks, deaths, etc?
• Do you have a Facebook account and never post anything on and just use it to voyeur others?
• Do you use your Facebook mainly to post pictures of yourself in your car, in your bathroom, in your bedroom, in your car, with a new hairstyle, with a new hair color, with a new significant other, amount of booze you consume on the weekends, amount of booze you consume during the week, in your car, in someone else’s car?
• Does your Facebook photo page have more pictures of you by yourself than you with friends?
• Does your Facebook photo page only have pictures of you?

Give JACK a few answers to these questions and we’ll pursue this subject even more, among other things.

JACK has many questions regarding this social media phenomenon.  It’s amazing to JACK that over 500 million people are on Facebook.  What’s more amazing is that MySpace just laid off 50% of their workforce and the Fox Television Network/News Corp is looking for someone to take it off their hands after they have taken a 3 year blood bath costing them millions of dollars.

What happened to MySpace?  Why did it happen?  Is it going to happen to Facebook?  Or is Facebook going to continue to  make their money by selling your private information to internet marketers based on what you look at on your Facebook homepage and of course, what you surf?  Who knows.
