It's been just a few weeks since Victoria welcomed their newest police chief to the Victoria Police Department, but it's evident early on that one of Chief Arredondo's biggest priorities is developing an open communication line with the community.

“I’m available, I’m your police chief, I’m here, I’m accessible, and if you call my office, we will figure out a way to get together to talk about whatever challenges we are facing, and hopefully together we can come up with some good solutions to address whatever ails our community,” Chief Arredondo offered at Victoria's Partnership Meeting as reported by Crossroads Today.

Victoria's Partnership Meetings are held by the Victoria Economic Development Corporation every Tuesday morning at 7:30 am most recently held at the Leo J. Welder Center to assure safe social distancing. Victoria's Partnership Meetings invite community business leaders, business owners, and policymakers to come together each week to discuss the latest topics regarding the expansion of the Crossroads community. The meetings are open to anyone with a role or interest in the economic and/or community development process.

It's here that Army veteran and former Dallas Police Dept. Major, Chief Arredondo made his promise to be transparent and to work with the community on their needs and concerns.

We welcome Chief Arredondo to the Crossroads, as he welcomes you to contact him at 361-485-3700 for any input, suggestions, and concerns.

One way the community can become more actively involved in the growth of the Crossroads and to meet with Chief Arredondo on a personal level is to enroll in our community's Citizens Academy, a nine-week course, which is taking applications until December 16th, 2020.
