Vanessa Guillen, a slain Fort Hood Solider whose case has sparked renewed conversation about sexual harassment and safety on our military installations, will be laid to rest this weekend.

A public memorial service for Guillen will be held at 8 PM Friday at the soccer field of Chavez High School in Houston, where Guillen played ball while in grade school.

Guillen's funeral services will take place on Saturday at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.

Guillen disappeared on April 22 from Fort Hood. A federal affidavit states fellow soldier Aaron David Robinson killed Guillen on post and had his girlfriend, Cecily Anne Aguilar, help dismember and attempt to burn her remains before burying her near the Leon River.

Investigators say Robinson fatally shot himself during a confrontation with police on Rancier in Killeen July 1st. Aguilar remains in federal custody. She's charged with felony alteration and mutilation to impede an investigation.

This is such a tragic story.  Prayers for her family, and hopefully they can find peace and all the answers they are looking for in the death of Vanessa as the investigation continues and a nation demands answers.
