Good news for those of us who love the bubbly refreshing taste of Topo Chico carbonated mineral water, but wish it had a kick. Wish no more.

Topo Chico's parent company, Coca-Cola has just announced Topo Chico will be adding a new product to their refreshing beverages line next year. It will be Coca-Cola's first and only alcoholic offering in the U.S. since the 1980s.

Introducing Topo Chico Hard Seltzer.

That's right, it's the Topo Chico we love with a little booze added to it! According to Food and Wine, the new product will apparently debut in a Tangy Lemon Lime flavor.

Named for the mountain Cerro del Topo Chico, near Monterrey, the Mexican sparkling mineral water brand was founded 125 years ago. "Sourcing its product from around the city of Monterrey, and has somewhat of a cult following. Relatively close proximity and cultural crossover into south Texas introduced the beverage to a U.S. market, where it has grown ever since, reaching all 50 states—though even when the beverage was available in over two-thirds of this country, Texas still accounted for 70 percent of total domestic sales." Food and Wine reports.

As a Texan, I can attest Topo Chico is by far my favorite mineral water, but honestly, Ranch Water, made with Topo Chico is one of my favorite cocktails. Here is the recipe for Ranch Water from A Couple Cooks website.

Topo Chico Hard Seltzer will launch in Latin America this year and is rumored to then be available in the United States sometime in 2021.

Topo Chico's Hard Seltzer ingredients will be announced closer to its release.

On a side note, CNN reports Coca- Cola also announced it will release Coca-Cola with Coffee, an iced coffee blend of Brazillian coffee and Coke in three flavors: Dark Blend, Vanilla and Caramel next year as well.
