The Astros Advance to the ALCS

Let's go Astros!  After a less than stellar regular season, the Astros snuck into the playoff with a 29-31 record.  With the Astros entering the postseason at two games under .500, the question was, will those bats wake up? The answer is a resounding yes!  The Astros have won 5 out of 6 in the playoffs and their offense is starting to explode.  The Astros won both series defeating the Twins 2-0 and the Athletics 3-1.

In the Athletic's series, the Astros scored 33 runs in those four games and those bats came to life.  It looks like those Springer Dinger's are back and the top of the lineup is hitting the ball.  This is a very positive sign as the Astros get ready for their next post-season test.  This will be the Astros fourth consecutive ALCS series.  With this accomplishment have joined some exclusive company.  The 1998-2001 Yankees, 1995-99 Braves, and 2011-14 Cardinals as the only teams to reach the League Championship Series four straight years in the Wild Card era. On a side note, that Braves team had one of the best pitching staffs of all-time with Glavine, Smoltz, Maddux, and Avery(just my opinion)

The Houston Astros will play the winner of the Rays/Yankees series. If it's the Yankees, get you popcorn ready. Can you imagine a Dodgers/Astros world series matchup? I hope so.  First, our boys have to take care of business. Let's go Astros!
