Texans have always used the term 12th man when talking about the fans of Texas A&M's Aggies, and in a new agreement with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL, they will continue to do so for the next five years.

The term has been in use at A&M for almost 100 years but, the Seahawks have been using it in recent years in their stadium Ring of Honor and in social media promotions. A&M originally took legal action in 2006 and the new deal means the Seahawks won't be using the term, trademarked by the university in 1990.

The Seahawks will pay a royalty to the university and in the meantime, will be working on variations of the use of the number 12 in future slogans.
