The folks behind 'Dancing With the Stars' announced the cast for the upcoming season 17 Wednesday morning on 'Good Morning America,' and there were some surprise names on the list, including Bill Nye the Science Guy and Snooki herself.

‘Jersey Shore’ star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi recently revealed to In Touch magazine that she and fiance Jionni LaValle are having a baby boy. What a relief! After all, the world can only handle one Snooki.

What is it with guys hitting Snooki and her look-alikes? She’s so small and harmless that it leads us to believe these are the same men who’d take a magnifying glass to ants to see ‘em explode. TMZ obtained video of this altercation that took place at this past weekend’s Rockfest in Kansas City.

If you can’t stand the ‘Jersey Shore‘ cast and hoped recent news of Snooki’s pregnancy would mess up MTV’s plans for the hit show, guess what, your prayers have not been answered. In fact MTV has stated the show must go on, and with a pregnant Snooki, the only thing we may not see in the upcoming sixth season is the pint-sized mother-to-be doing the ‘Jersey Turnpike’ at Karma.

Few would argue that the spray-tanned, streaked exploits of Snooki, The Situation and the rest of the ‘Jersey Shore’ gang have been good for New Jersey’s already mixed reputation. Perhaps that’s why Hoboken, NJ’s mayor Dawn Zimmer has shot down plans for a ‘Jersey Shore’ spinoff, which would’ve seen JWoww and Snooki renting an apartment in the city.

After months of dieting and workouts, ‘Jersey Shore’ star Snooki is close to her target weight (for those of you wondering, the tiny four-foot-nine-inch media sensation is aiming for 98 pounds). But it seems now she has a new fight on her wee little hands.

Despite a report from US Weekly, MTV says it has no plans to replace the cast of ‘Jersey Shore.’ “We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun. We currently have no plans to recast the show,” a spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter Friday.
