Police are now left trying to piece together evidence that might help to shed light on why Broderick opened fire on the individuals. Police records show Broderick was charged with a felony for sexual assault of a minor in 2020. He was released on bail last June but KHOU reports that the Travis County District Attorney announced they had plans to file a motion to revoke that bond. As of Sunday evening, police are still not sure about the weapon used in the shooting or where that firearm might be.

Police believe that Broderick knew the victims and targeted them with intent to do them harm. He was arrested around 7:30 am this morning. Police say Broderick was armed at the time of his arrest but can't confirm yet if the firearm found on the suspect is the same as the one used in the shooting.
