There has been talk of closing F.W. Gross Elementary School and others because of lower enrollment and dwindling funds, and that has some of the school's students and their parents worried. They say they will attend tonight's school board meeting to voice their concern.

The Designing Our Future Task Force is suggesting the closing of F.W. Gross, William Wood, and Guadalupe Elementary schools, along with Mitchell Guidance Center. The plan would move those students to other elementary schools, and Mitchell students would be moved to Liberty Academy.

Parents of students at F.W. Gross started an online petition to keep the school open last week, which was addressed to the school board.

If you would like to voice your opinion and find out more, the V.I.S.D. school board will hold it's regular meeting tonight (Thursday, March 21) at 6:00 pm at the administration building located at 102 Profit Drive in Victoria.
