Experience The Best St. Patrick’s Day Festivities In Texas

All the leprechauns in Texas will be painting the towns green next week! The State of Texas has had many migrations settle, and the Irish were no exception. Actually, before Texas became Independent from Mexico, The Mexican government allowed Irish Catholic to settle the area of Refugio, Texas in South Texas.

When it comes time to celebrate St. Patrick Day, you may most commonly think of New York City, Chicago or other areas of the east coast. But Texas has some great celebrations too!

San Antonio, Texas -

The famed Riverwalk will be having 2 days of fun March 16 - 17. The River Walk Operations and The Harp & Shamrock Society of Texas has a fun-filled weekend celebration. Activities include dyeing of the River Walk, Artisan Show, and Live Entertainment.

Houston-

Houston celebrates March 16 and 17. Houston's St. Patrick's Day Parade has deep roots in the city's history, dating back to the 1880s when it originated in "Irish Town" near the old St. Patrick's Church. The celebrations start with a Parade and the party continues at different venues around the city.

Dallas, Texas -

The Dallas celebration has lots of activities like a Parade, and a 5K Run hosted by Run Project. Thousands of people flood the streets along Greenville Avenue annually for this Dallas favorite St. Patrick’s Day event, which has been a beloved celebration for more than 40 years.

Shamrock, Texas -

You would think with the a name like Shamrock there would be a heck of a St. Patrick's Day party, and in this case you wouldn't be wrong. The town of Shamrock, Texas starts the party on March, 14 and it continues through Sunday the 17th.
