Separated Same-Sex Penguin Couple Pedro and Buddy to be Reunited in the Spring
According to officials, Pedro and Buddy, the same-sex African penguin couple at the Toronto Zoo, will be reunited in the spring. Yay! Chalk one up for true love.
Last week, zookeepers announced that the so-called “gay” penguins would be separated for the good of their critically-endangered species. But once the current mating season is over, all the penguins — including Pedro and Buddy — will be reunited as a community.
Officials aren’t sure, however, if the male penguins will choose to pair-bond again. Will things work out between the two lovebirds? Stay tuned.
