Roger Waters Shares Clip From ‘Call to Action’ Film ‘Us and Them’
Roger Waters has released a 30-second teaser for his upcoming concert film Us + Them as tickets go on sale for special screenings to be held Oct. 2 and 6.
Co-directed with his longtime videographer Sean Evans, Us + Them includes imaginative graphics and stage presentations for songs from throughout Waters' career, with and without Pink Floyd. This first sneak peek shows graphic images of coins falling during his take on "Money," which – as with the movie's title track – originally appeared on 1973's The Dark Side of the Moon.
“I’m so looking forward to the launch of the movie in October,” Waters said in a new statement. “Us + Them is not standard rock 'n' roll fare: Some in the audience may ‘yee haaaa!!!,’ which is okay, but many will weep. That is what I hope for."
Watch the trailer below, then search for venues and purchase tickets for Us + Them at the film's official website.
This performance was captured during a four-night 2018 stand in Amsterdam, part of a two-year global trek that was also called Us + Them. Evans and Waters earlier co-directed a 2014 concert movie documenting his solo tour of Pink Floyd's The Wall.
"Us + Them is a call to action," Waters added. "Homo Sapiens stand at a crossroads: We can either pool our love, develop our capacity to empathize with others, and act collectively for the good of our planet – or we can remain ‘Comfortably Numb,’ and continue, like blind lemmings, on our current omnicidal death march towards extinction. Us + Them is a vote for love and life."
