CHANGES COMING TO ALCOHOL SALES ON SUNDAYS:

House Bill 1518 will go into effect on September 1sth that will allow Texans to buy beer and wine at 10 AM on Sunday!  Perfect timing for NFL Sundays.  The new law will change the current rule of having to wait until noon on Sundays to buy alcohol.  House Bill 1518 was actually passed last month but was squashed by other news that was happening in the news. There was also another alcohol story trending last month and that was House Bill 1024. This bill now allows beer, wine, and mixed drinks to be included in pickup and delivery food orders. THERE IS MORE TO HOUSE BILL 1518:

House bill 1518 will not only change the time that you can buy alcohol on Sundays, but it might also make your vacation a little more carefree.  Starting on September 1st, you will also be able to enjoy alcohol at any time while staying at a hotel.  As long as you are a registered hotel guest at the hotel.

ALSO GOING INTO EFFECT ON SEPTEMBER 1ST:

House Bill 1927 will allow anyone 21 years old or older who can legally possess a firearm in Texas to carry a handgun in public without a permit. Current state law allows residents 21 or older to carry a handgun only after completing the required training and criminal background check to obtain a license to carry. The new bill will direct the Texas Department of Public Safety to create a free, online gun safety course, but training is no longer required to carry a handgun. Businesses can prohibit guns by posting a sign
