2 Texas Cities Made This Gross, Bed Bug Infested List
Planning your 2026 travel? A national pest control company just released a list of the most bed bug infested cities in the USA. 2 Texas cities made the top 50 ...
Orkin have been doing the pest control thing for over 120 years and they have compiled a list of the top 50 cities in the United States of America with the worst bed bug problem.
A couple of states made the top 50 more than once, including Texas who are on it twice.
Bed bugs are pretty disgusting critters; they're hard to see, hard to get rid of and the little bastards bite. Just about every Texas city has them but, according to Orkin, Dallas, (#24), and Houston, (#45),have the biggest bed bug problem in the lone star state.
How To Spot Bed Bugs
Orkin says you should check your room for:
- Rust-colored stains, (blood, yuck), or smears on sheets and mattresses
- Clusters of dark brown or black spots from dried excrement
- Shed skins or casings left behind after molting
- A subtle, sweet and musty odor, particularly in heavily infested areas.

How To Get Rid Of Bed Bugs
It's not easy but you can try these things posted by prevention.com,. First, gather up all your sheets, bedding, mattress covers and any other fabrics ... small rugs, stuffed animals, etc ... wash them and then dry them on high heat.
Then, for best results, call in a pro. If you decide to do it yourself, prevention.com says you should:
... use diatomaceous earth—which is a white powder that you’ll apply directly to wherever the bed bugs are and can be found online—or a bio-oil spray designed specifically to kill bed bugs, like Eco-Raider, says Gibb, which you’ll apply the same way. Both are long-lasting and don’t break down over time like other pesticides, which means you should only have to apply them once.
