There’s plenty of danger in the great state of Texas from the wild cats that we have out here, the dangerous and venomous snakes that live here and let’s not forget one of the scariest things out here, Californians, just kidding, kind of. Even though Texas is probably one of the most beautiful states in the United States of America it’s also one of the largest, which means more opportunities for danger are here.

For the most part, if you’re from the state of Texas, you kind of know what to prepare yourself for each day, season, and year, but for individuals who are not from here one of the most terrifying things that may just kill you here in Texas and it actually doesn’t have a pulse but definitely has names. The dangers of living in Texas also don’t keep the same name, that’s right sometimes I’ve heard this particular danger to name itself from Irma, Allison, Brett, Rita, Carla,  Ike, and we can’t forget about the infamous Harvey and Katrina.

That’s right hurricanes. According to the KXAN since the late 1800s, more than 50 hurricanes have made their presence known here in the great state of Texas and that’s not even including the 50 tropical storms in depressions events. 109 tropical storms have been made in Texas altogether since 1850. Hurricane season in Texas officially runs from June 1 until November 30. However, the worst and most active time for a hurricane in Texas would be August through October. Properly preparing yourself for a hurricane in Texas isn’t easy but it is mandatory. Pack up on supplies, continuously, check the weather channel, make sure your car is full of gas just in case you may have to evacuate, and always take it seriously. A lot of people think that hurricanes in Texas aren’t a big deal until you’re in one, so keep that always in mind and stay safe.
