Did you know that Texas has the fastest posted speed limit in the entire United States? I have no idea until this morning that you can legally go faster here than anywhere else in America. Pretty spiffy, huh?

Just northeast of San Antonio, there is a 40-mile stretch of highway with a posted speed limit of 85 mph. I came across a TikTok video this morning about it, and the comment section really cracked me up. Check out the video below and then stay tuned for some of my favorite comments.

Here are the best comments:

"In Texas, everyone goes 85 everywhere"

"My truck acts up if I go any slower than 85!!!"

"85 is just a suggestion...lol"

"So technically 90"

"Posted 85 in Texas means 100-120"

"The way you said 85 like it's high"

"Every morning here in Fort Worth everyone goes 100"

"4am be hitting 100 on the highway anywhere lmfao"

You guys are naughty! I honestly freak out if anyone drives remotely nearly 85. I'm a granny and I'm usually driving 10 miles below the speed limit and making everyone around me mad. I'm pretty sure my number one fear is dying in a car accident. No, thank you. I'd rather get eaten by a shark or burned by a cascade of lava or something. Those both sound way cooler.

So, there's your fun Texas fact for the day! You're welcome. Stick around and scroll through some of the galleries below for more weird Texas-based news, fun, and facts!

And...slow down, guys, or I'm calling your mamas.
