Here is one way to find out that you have been traded by your team! Nathan Martorella, who played for the San Antonio Missions, found out that he was traded mid-game while he was standing on second as a base runner!  The San Antonio Missions are the Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres

Martorella was standing on second base when a pinch runner was called for, and that would be the last time he would be a San Antonio Mission. There were two players traded mid-game.  Check out the video of how it all happened! “

Let me start by saying that I don't live in Weslaco or follow the team. However, this is a moment that any baseball fan can appreciate!

Heading into the final inning, Weslaco High Panthers were down 9-3 to Waco Midway. This was the Class 6A state title game Saturday at McCombs Field in Austin. Weslcao managed to get the bases loaded for Sophomore shortstop, Andrea Ortiz.  She crushed the ball over the left-field wall leading the Panthers to their first-ever state softball championship! The moment is INCREDIBLE. Here it is just in case you haven't seen it yet or want to watch it again.

Congratulations to the Weslaco High Panthers softball team!
