Texas Mom Abandons 11 and 6-Year-Old Daughters For Two Months
Law enforcement is currently looking for a woman who has allegedly left her kids alone at their Texas home for two months!
According to abc13, the mom, who is now missing, Rawshawna Dowdell, has been accused of leaving her 6 and 11-year-old daughters home alone for a two-month period that started back on February 17. The mom was eventually located in Ohio and stated that she was at a funeral.
The 11-year-old was in charge of running the household.
The article states that the 11-year-old child was in charge of caring for her 6-year-old sister. With duties that included getting her and her sister ready for school and somehow getting food.
At one point during the abandonment, a text message was shared with the girls' mom. In the text, the 11-year-old stated that she was concerned and scared. The daughter told her mother they had no food and that she was not able to care for her 6-year-old sister
The mom is still on the run from law enforcement.
A call was made by a very observant neighbor who had learned that the girls had been staying alone. The mom is still on the run.
@bayoucityraw BAYOU CITY RAW — “SMH… THIS RIGHT HERE?” HARRIS COUNTY MOTHER ACCUSED OF LEAVING KIDS ALONE FOR SIX WEEKS! Houston, we gotta talk. Because this case right here? SMH doesn’t even cover it. 34‑year‑old Rayshawna Deanna Dowdell is now charged with abandoning a child with intent to return after investigators say she left her two daughters — ages 11 and 6 — home alone for six straight weeks. Not six hours. Not six days. Six weeks. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Dowdell dipped out on February 17 and didn’t come back until March 30. During that entire stretch, those babies were in that Katy‑area home with no adult, no supervision, and barely enough food to stretch. The 11‑year‑old was basically forced into survival mode — taking care of her little sister, handling school, and trying to keep the house together. And the wildest part? Investigators say Dowdell was texting instructions from out of state, like remote parenting was going to cut it. This whole thing blew open when a woman met the girls at a neighborhood park and realized something was very wrong. She contacted HCSO, and deputies found the home unkempt, unsecured, and clearly lived in by children alone. CPS stepped in and placed the girls with a relative… but then things got messier. Dowdell allegedly removed the children from that home after an altercation and gave investigators inconsistent stories about where they were. A welfare check finally located the girls in Ohio. As of today, Dowdell is charged but not in custody. The DA’s office says more charges could come depending on what CPS and investigators uncover. Houston, this one hurts. Two little girls had to raise themselves for over a month while their mother was states away. No child deserves that. No excuse makes that make sense. This case is still developing — and you already know I’m watching it. Stay tuned. #tictok#fyp#viral#trending#explorepage✨♬ Rise Up - Andra Day
