A New Splash Pad is Coming to Riverside Park in 2027
Every Wednesday, you can catch our What's Up Wednesday segment with Ashley from the City of Victoria! We are always learning something new. This morning, we learned that City Council approved the design and installation of a new Splash Pad in Riverside Park. It will be located right next to the Children's Park, a perfect location.
Construction is scheduled to start in 2027, weather permitting, and the tentative completion date is April 30, 2027. The project will be funded by the Marsha Shanklin Foundation and will be named after her. Splash pads have already closed for the 2026 season.
More upgrades are coming to Riverside Park.
The Memorial Rose Garden will close to the public for about five months as crews begin maintenance, cleanup, and renovation work to prepare the garden for a fresh start in the spring of 2027.
This update will bring a new look to the rose garden, featuring native Texas plants alongside the iconic roses, as well as a new entry sign and educational signage for the new plants. The update will take place in phases and start this month. The tentative completion date is the end of March 2027.

Let's take a moment to appreciate how beautiful and historic Victoria is.
@melaniejholmes I love visiting the heart of each town I travel to. In most towns, there's a historic downtown area with shops and restaurants to explore, and Victoria is no different. The courthouse is absolutely beautiful, and there are bluebonnets painted on the sidewalk! Not to mention the old church and many historic homes all located within walking distance of the Courthouse square. Add this beautiful city to your bucket list today ❤️ #fyp#travel#vacation#roadtrip#bucketlist#texas#traveltiktok#foryou#foryoupage#historictowns#mustseeplaces♬ Acoustic Warm - JerryJeyy
