
Townsquare Media to Host “Thanking Our Healthcare Heroes” Street Dance Featuring The Spazmatics
This is a free community event to celebrate healthcare professionals during Hospital Week
VICTORIA, Texas (March 26, 2026) —National Hospital Week is May 10-16, and to celebrate, Townsquare Media Victoria (KIXS108, KLUB Tejano, 98. JACK FM, and Q92) will partner with Detar Healthcare System and Citizens Medical Center for the Thanking Our Healthcare Heroes Street Dance on Thursday, May 14.
The Thanking Our Healthcare Heroes Street Dance will feature live music from the 80s and 90s
This free event will feature one of the most popular bands in Crossroads, The Spazmatics, who will rock out your favorite songs from the 1980s.
The street dance will feature food trucks and drink vendors. Dance sponsors will also have booths.
Timeline for Street Dance:
- 5:00 p.m. – Kickoff with opening with DJ music from JP
- 5:30 p.m. – Welcome remarks from presenting sponsors, DeTar Healthcare System and Citizens Medical Center
- 5:45 p.m. – City proclamation presented by Mayor Duane Crocker recognizing Nurses Week and Hospital Week
- 6:30 –9:00 p.m. – The Spazmatics
- 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. – JP will be closing out the night.
A street dance is a special way to honor healthcare heroes in Victoria.
DeTar Healthcare System and Citizens Medical Center are presenting sponsors of the Thanking Our Healthcare Heroes Street Dance. Jennifer Maan, marketing director at Citizens Medical Center, said the center believes healthcare professionals are the heart of Victoria.
"We are proud to support an event that not only celebrates their hard work and dedication but also brings our community together in appreciation of those who care for us when we need it most," Maan said.
Emily Weatherly, marketing director for DeTar Healthcare System, stated that the event is about gratitude.
“Our healthcare professionals show up for our community every single day with heart, skill, and resilience," Weatherly said. "This street dance is a chance for all of us to come together, celebrate them, and simply say thank you in a fun and meaningful way.”
Melissa Rivera, market president of Townsquare Media Victoria, believes that a street dance is a special way to celebrate healthcare heroes in Victoria.
“Victoria is supportive, celebratory, and united when it comes to recognizing our healthcare heroes," Rivera said. "We wanted to create something that truly reflects the spirit of this community, and what better way to do so than by hosting a street dance in honor of our healthcare heroes."
