Despite this change, the West Texas Fair & Rodeo remains committed to supporting Texas youth. The organization will continue to provide scholarships through other avenues, ensuring that the legacy of aiding young Texans in their educational pursuits will continue.

The Taylor County Expo Center and Fairgrounds extended heartfelt thanks to the titleholders, committee members, pageant judges, sponsors, and contestant families, who have contributed throughout the years. Johnson went on to say that "The Miss West Texas Fair & Rodeo Queen Scholarship Contest produced numerous leaders throughout the years, and helped hundreds further their education."

I am saddened that the pageant is gone however, in the past several years only one or maybe two would step up to compete. The loss of interest over the years took its toll on the event.
