The flat-out top speed challenge known as the Texas Mile returns to Victoria Regional Airport this weekend. Drivers will be competing for top speeds Friday and Saturday from 8 am to dusk, and from 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday.

This time around, organizers have added a large LED screen for spectators showing vehicles on their respective runs. There are also food trucks, bleacher seating and shaded viewing areas available, and that's good news because sunny weather is expected to be back this weekend. There are also shuttle buses planned to take spectators to different areas for events throughout the day.

Admission for spectators is $25 per person for a 3-day pass with children 12 and under free. The airport is located at 609 Foster Field Drive.
