Houston Texans Set to Honor Robert “Bob” McNair on Monday Night Football

The Houston Texans will honor the team's founder and owner Robert "Bob" McNair when they take the field against the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football.

McNair's initials 'RCM' will appear on players helmets in honor of the man who vowed to bring NFL football back to Houston after the Oilers left the city to become the TennesseeTitans ater the 1996 season. Forming the group Houston NFL Holdings shortly thereafter, the drive proved sussessful when Houston was awarded a new franchise that played its forst season in 2002. The Houston Texans have had some up and own seasons but, are on a tear through the AFC South leading the division after winning 7 straight games, and going for their 8th in a row tonight against the Tennessee Titans. If Houston wins tonight, it will set a franchise record.

Robert "Bob" McNair died Friday at the age of 81. He had battled lukemia and squamous cell carcinoma in recent years.
