Of course, the most popular day for marriage proposals is Valentine's day! However, what are some other popular days to, 'pop the question?' This list is according to wedding wire and is based on stats from 2020! The year of COVD really changes some of these numbers.  Here is the list from 5 to 1.

5 INDEPENDENCE DAY:

I am curious how the Fourth of July scores so high on this list?  Well,, most people have off from work on Independence Day and summertime in 2020 meant more opportunity for outdoor (and COVID-safer) activities and proposals. Makes sense!  I bet this will change moving forward, in 2019 this was the 10th most popular day to pop the question.

4. CHRISTMAS EVE:

This one makes sense, considering the many families get together for a nice Christmas meal or family gatherings.

3. CHRISTMAS DAY:

Christmas Day is usually the #1 day to get engaged, it dropped to third place during 2020. Probably because large gatherings were not so common during 2020. Still, this celebratory holiday was a popular date to pop the question.

2. NEW YEAR'S DAY:

In 2019 New Year’s Day took the third spot for most popular proposal date going up on spot for 2020! Normally any proposal that occurs at or right after midnight constitutes a New Year’s Day engagement—and we know that many couples like to kick off the new year right!

1. VALENTINES DAY

In any other year, Christmas has always taken the top spot!  However, in 2020, things were different.  Why? Because in 2020, it took place before COVID swept the U.S. And, of course, Valentine’s Day is a holiday that’s all about love.
