Happy World Storytelling Day!
Do you have a favorite story? Well, today is the day to share it. This is a holiday that originally started in Sweden, believe it or not. It was originally called All Narrators Day and the first observance of the holiday was in the early 1900's. Since then, World Storytelling day is associated with folklore, mythical creatures, strength of mind and heart, triumph, heartbreak leading into happiness, and dreams. However, there are so many other types of stories and literature content that those few descriptive words don't even begin to cover the broad range of storytelling.
How do you celebrate such a day like today? Share your favorite story with someone, read it aloud if need be. Perhaps, write your own story and read it to someone or several people who would hear it. If you want to learn more about today's holiday and other ways to celebrate, click here.
