What a year 2019 has been, with major releases from Slipknot, Tool, Korn and others! But 2020 could be spectacular too, as we're starting to see several acts wind down their road work and return to the studio. It appears as though Slipknot's Knotfest Roadshow cohorts Gojira are one of those acts.

The French metallers posted a photo of a studio recording console with the various levels set for recording, but left their status still somewhat in doubt by failing to caption the image on social media. Have a look below.

The timing would be right for new music as the group's most recent album was 2016's Magma release. The group has spent plenty of time over the last few years promoting the effort, most recently spending the summer on tour with Slipknot.

The band's tour schedule is letting up, with three music festivals remaining before the year ends. So it's definitely possible that the start of a new record is coming. No official word has come as of yet, but stay tuned to see if things progress.
