The Edinburg High Bobcats and Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Early College High School Bears met Thursday night at the Richard R. Flores Stadium to play a win-or-go-home District 31-6A zone play-in game.

The Monitor reported, Duron received a flag during the second quarter of the game after he shoved an opposing offensive lineman to the ground and then tried to tackle a PSJA High freshman quarterback Jaime Lopez after the play had already been called off.

Referee Fred Gracia and Duron exchanged some brief words to each other after the play, and Gracia then quickly ejected Duron from the game after his back-to-back unsportsmanlike penalties on the same play.

Gracia was able to pick himself up but was immediately taken to an ambulance outside of the stadium entrances, where EMT's medically evaluated him for a potential shoulder injury and concussion-like symptoms.
