Dusty Hill of ZZ Top Widow Sells Eye-Popping Ranch In Texas
The widow of the late Dusty Hill of ZZ Top, Charleen McCrory Hill "Just Got Paid"! Mansion Global said his widow sold her 78-acre ranch in College Station for $6.4 million to a ZZ Top fan. Wow, talk about "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide" kind of money. The buyer even bought an additional 294 acres surrounding the property.
Built in 2016, this unique single-story spread spans 5,800 square feet and boasts an upscale industrial-chic feel, with distinctive exposed metal beams, air ducts, and concrete walls that add character to the space.
There's also a formal dining area, a large living room, and a chef's kitchen with dual sinks, two dishwashers, and double ovens. There are three bedrooms and four bathrooms, reception areas, an office, and vast windows that take in the surrounding views. Outside, there's a kitchen and dining area, a pool, and multiple terraces.
The angular glass-and-metal home was a treasure trove of memorabilia, a testament to the legendary career of Dusty Hill. Listing agent Beth H. Ferester of Corcoran Forester Realty shared, "In every house I ever sold the Hill family, we had to have room for the memorabilia, including a 12-feet-tall painting of Dusty we always called 'Big Dusty.'"
Hill, a Dallas native, was the ZZ Top bassist for over 50 years. He also played the keyboard and sang lead and backup vocals. The band's hits included "Legs," "Gimme All Your Lovin'," and "Sharp-Dressed Man." Hill died in July 2021 at age 72.
His widow, Actress Charleen McCrory Hill, bought the property in 2021, four months after Dusty passed away at age 72. The amount she paid for the ranch at the time was not disclosed.
