Crossroads It’s Time to Welcome Our Warriors For the Weekend
Warrior's Weekend is this weekend and Friday, May 20th our heroes will be making their way through the Crossroads.
Let's make this a welcome they never forget!
Warrior's Weekend, celebrating its 16th year of life-affirming healing is such a special event for our military and first responder families. Over the years I've heard some of the most beautiful stories of healing and change when our warriors who served to protect our freedom make their way through our community to the Field of Honor on their way to Warrior's Weeknd Port O'Connor event.
This next part always makes me cry.
We make these warriors feel so welcome that some of them feel so loved in our community that they MOVE HERE. Can you imagine? They are so moved by the Warrior Weekend event that they choose to move their families here. It says so much about our community as a whole and of course about all of the men and women who dedicate their time to volunteer and hearts to putting this historic event together.
Thank you to each of the Warrior's Weekend volunteers. You bring light to lives.
Here is where to line up to welcome our warriors. We will be there too. Crossroads, please make plans to line the streets like never before and help make the 16th year of celebrating our warriors one for the RECORD BOOKS!
Warrior's Weekend website offers this schedule. You can view it in detail here.
"The weekend is filled with a good ole South Texas Welcome with all the surrounding towns waiving on the streets, shutting down highways, waving big flags and showing appreciation for what we all hold dear - OUR FREEDOM! Friday night there is a fish fry including our boat captions, Saturday morning a yummy taco and fruit breakfast as the heroes hit the water at about 8:30 am on approximately 200 boats. Weigh-in is from 12:30 - 3:30 pm down at Froggies Bait Dock. Saturday night is the BBQ dinner with awards and a poker tournament. Sunday morning a full-fledged breakfast at 8 am and a big SEND OFF to our heroes."
Hope to see you there!
