Residents in a Zachary County neighborhood were caught off guard when they heard a loud crashing sound outside. "We heard a loud noise, so we knew something ran into something," said Barbara Baudouin.

Baudouin and her husband ran outside expecting to see a car crash, however, at first glance, everything seemed normal. As they began looking up and down the street Baudouin said, " Another neighbor yells, 'it's on top of the house!'

Sure enough, on top of a home was an upside-down vehicle with a woman inside. The car was lodged into the roof of the home with wreckage all around.

Authorities speculate she crashed into a ditch and the tree then went airborne landing on top of a nearby roof of a home. Video shows the vehicle lodged into the roof landing on top of the family's living room.

At the time of the crash, a family was inside the home, including an eight-year-old child and a thirteen-year-old thankfully, neither was injured.

THE DRIVER WAS RESCUED AND CONSCIOUS

The woman was carefully taken out of the vehicle and taken to a hospital by helicopter. She was conscious at the time of her rescue and her current condition is unknown.

Authorities are currently trying to determine if the driver had a medical emergency that caused her to crash. Witnesses in the area painted a different picture as they admitted to seeing the woman driving around 80 mph before crashing into the ditch.
