Yes, it is only January, but it appears that bluebonnets are starting to bloom in Texas. Normally we start seeing Bluebonnets around the end of March.  In a story by ABC 13, Bluebonnets are popping up in the Houston area because of the warmer weather, but it's not only happening in Houston.  Bluebonnets are currently starting to pop up in South Central and South Texas.

If you are from Victoria chances are you probably have seen the awesome field of Bluebonnets in Riverside park.  For those of you who don't know, it is located right next to the Children's park and is a hotspot for picture taking.  If you plan on taking pictures in a field of Bluebonnets, be careful!

DO NOT WEAR SANDALS AND BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS!

If you will be wading in a field of tall grass, know that you are in prime real estate for SNAKES! Cowboy boots are not just for fashion in Texas.  They are for protection against snakes. Not only snake but you can also find black widows, brown recluse spiders, scorpions, ticks, fire ants, bees, wasps, centipedes, and tarantulas

Be sure you also explore the backroads!  You never know what kind of great surprises you will find!
