You may have noticed a distinct lack of updates on my schoolin'. Or maybe you didn't. Fine. See if I get you a Christmas present this year. The major reason for that lack of updates has been a lack of time to write those updates. And that lack of time is a story in and of itself.

On Saturday, I had to go shopping for school supplies. I won't lie, I hated every minute of it. The list my art appreciation teacher provided listed several items. Unfortunately for me, everything after "11x17 Sketchbook" might as well have been written in Chinese. And been stereo instructions. Translated from the original Latin. What I'm getting at here is that I was confused.

This September 3rd will see the triumphant return of the Armadillo Fest to Riverside Park! It's been a long time in the making and this Festival definitely aims to please. Featuring live performances by Roger Creager, Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders, the Scott Taylor Band, and Dunville, the Armadillo Fest is sure to please a lot of local music fans.

Fresh from my conceptual victory on Day One of my Back to School journey, I can fully admit I was feeling much more relaxed about the whole ordeal. After all, I'd been back in a classroom and had managed not to run out of it or start bawling like a little girl. And really, that was all I could have asked for in my first day back. If anybody would have stopped and asked, I would have swore up and down that I was just waiting for my class to start. The honest truth is, however, that I was sitting out in the hallway doing everything I could to resist the urge to run out of the college in a panic.

An earthquake epicentered in Virginia occurred Tuesday afternoon, with people in Washington, DC, New York, Ohio, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Toronto reporting they felt the tremors, as well. Reports thus far indicate the quake registered a 5.9 on the Richter scale.
