Amazon Sells FDA Approved COVID-19 Tests

The FDA has approved the first COVID testing kit of its kind on Amazon.

Introducing the DxTerity testing kit, a spit collection test, that offers the convenience of testing for COVID-19 at home or at work, allowing individuals to choose when they would like to test, even without COVID-19 symptoms.

The test is on sale at Amazon now for $110.00, with the testing kit also available on the DXTerity website for $130.00.

After you order the kit from Amazon, and your kit is registered, the kit is expected o arrive within 24 to 48 hours. Once it arrives you collect a sample of your saliva and repackage the sample along with the shipping return box, and return it to the DxTerity lab. Once the sample is received and the test is evaluated, you will be notified privately of the results within 24 to 72 hours.

The FDA approved the kit last month which received an emergency use authorization, meaning, "facilitating the availability and use of testing, needed during public health emergencies."

According to the DxTerity website, " The DxTerity SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR CE Test is an endpoint reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test followed by detection with capillary electrophoresis (CE) intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from the SARS-CoV-2 in saliva specimens collected from any individuals determined to be appropriate for COVID-19 testing by their healthcare provider (HCP), including from individuals without symptoms of COVID-19.

And it's the "individuals without symptoms" notation as well as the convenience of testing at home that has made Amazon's first testing kit on their market so popular, even with the $110 + pricetag. Some clinics and organizations will not perform COVID tests without symptoms of COVID.
