VISD Announces School Closures for Thursday And Friday
Due to expected weather conditions and hazardous driving conditions, the VISD classes will dismiss early on Thursday and be closed on Friday.
The following schedule applies for Thursday:
Schools that normally release at 2:50 will release at 12:00
Schools that normally release at 3:10 will release at 12:10
Schools that normally release at 3:30 will release at 12:30
Schools that normally release at 4:00 will release at 1 p.m.
Sporting and extracurricular events for Thursday evening have been cancelled and will be rescheduled.
Supervisors will alert employees to their release time from work on Thursday. All employees should report to work on their usual starting time on Thursday.
For Friday, all offices and schools in VISD will be closed for the day. Limited personnel will be asked to report to work on Friday. Those essential position personnel will be notified by their supervisor.
School related events that were scheduled for Friday will be rescheduled.
The Grand Opening Celebration for the Victoria Fine Arts Center will be scheduled for another date. All previously purchased tickets will be honored.

Goliad ISD will have early release Thursday Feb 2nd. Goliad Elementary pick up time will be 11:30; Intermediate School pickup will be 11:35; Middle and High Schools pickup time will be 11:35, and buses will run at 11:35. Athletic events have been cancelled for Feb. 3rd & 4th. Contact your child's campus for more info.

Our Lady of Victory School will be dismissing classes at 12:30PM on Thursday and will be closed on Friday. The Daycare will be open until 3:00PM on Thursday and closed on Friday. No lunch will be served at school on Thursday but the Daycare will serve lunch. All after school activities for Thursday and Friday will be cancelled.
St. Joseph's High School Open House that was scheduled for Thursday evening has been postponed until Feb. 10th.

Victoria Red Cross will open a "Warming Shelter" for homeless persons on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights at First United Methodist Church on Bridge Street. It will be open from 5:00PM to 9:00AM each day. The church members have been trained by Red Cross and stand ready to provide volunteers so that homeless persons in our commmunity can weather the below-freezing temperatures for the next few nights. Volunteers are needed to help so this will be a positive experience for those needing shelter. Please consider making time to help.
