The on-screen battle of Batman vs. Superman will play out in theaters next year, but the behind-the-scenes battle may be playing out in the editing room as the two superheroes jockey for screen time in one of the biggest films of 2016. According to a new report, Warner Bros. executives have asked Zack Snyder for more Batman in the movie at the expense of the Man of Steel.

Current Superman and Man of Steel star Henry Cavill was officially cast in the role in January of 2011. But, seven years earlier Cavill was also cast as Kal-El in a different Superman project. That film, which was written by J.J. Abrams and would've been directed by McG, was eventually canceled and Cavill never shot a frame of Superman. Until many years later when he was called back for a new Superman reboot and given the job. There may be hope for the existence of a real-life Superman.  He's a little young right now, but he's already got the attire, the awesomely nonchalant attitude, and the ability to fall out of a window and land on his feet.
