Only weeks earlier FOX confirmed its Empire juggernaut would hold onto its Wednesday timeslot for Season 2, but now the Lee Daniels music drama is first out of the gate with a FOX premiere date. When will Cookie, Luscious and the Lyon family return to rebuild FOX’s Empire for Season 2?

The Simpsons has gone on long enough that fans will inevitably face cast departure or a potential end to the series, but despite the recent renewal for Seasons 27 and 28, that end may already be in sight. Iconic Simpsons mainstay Harry Shearer appears to have revealed his exit from the long-running FOX animated series, and not even Ned Flanders could find the optimism here.

Now that Upfronts 2015 have entered the scheduling phase, we thought most of the major renewals, cancellations and pickups had delivered their biggest surprises. Not so apparently, as FOX has decided to put American Idol out to pasture after 15 seasons, ending the reality singing competition for good next year.

Upfront season has already given us a few pickups, but so too must cancellations follow. FOX’s The Mindy Project has become the first high-profile casualty of the season, canceled after three full seasons, but with a twist: Hulu may already have stepped in to revive the acclaimed comedy.

Well, that didn’t take long! Just days after rumors broke that FOX was ready to greenlight an official X-Files revival with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, the truth is officially out there. Mulder and Scully will return for a limited X-Files run on FOX, but what other details can we uncover?

The success of FOX’s 24: Live Another Day event series got the ball rolling on a number of other ideas, from The X-Files to Enourmous, but their latest short-burn effort is even more expendable. Sylvester Stallone is reportedly developing a limited series TV rendition of The Expendables, uniting some of TV’s biggest stars for a new action-drama.

By now we've seen 'The Simpsons' tackling a number of pop-culture funhouse mirrors of themselves, from the recent 'Family Guy' crossover to last season's LEGO installment, and this year's "Treehouse of Horror" is no different. Turnaround time for 'The Simpsons' has treated fans to the knowledge that season 26 premiere "Clown in the Dumps" would feature the death of a major recurring character for the long-running animation series, a deadly prospect made all the more ominous by the episode's title. Now, as the first photos of the Krusty-centric 'Simpsons' premiere emerge, FOX realllllly wants us to think Bart's favorite clown is the beloved "Clown in the Dumps."

If FXX's ongoing 12-day marathon of all 522 'The Simpsons' episodes reminds us of anything, it's that the series' enduring popularity makes it impossible to say when FOX might finally call it quits on America's favorite family. Whether or not "You'll Never Stop the Simpsons" however, showrunner Al Jean has a very specific (and familiar!) image picked out for the distant future's series finale.
