STJ Flyer Athletes of The Week

Congratulation to our STJ Flyer Athletes of the week:

Defense

Secondary 

Matthew Janak, Sophomore; Ed Clay, Junior; Jacoby Robinson, Junior; Quincy Johnson, Junior;  J'Den Miller, Junior and KeAon Griffin, Junior.

The Flyers Secondary combined for 3 interceptions, 6 more passes broken up and 26 tackles.  

Offense

Jacob Bordovsky and the Offensive Line: Caleb Limon, Senior; Blake Houck, Senior; Steven DeLeon, Sophomore; D'Ary Patton, Junior; and Jace Stevens, Junior

Jacob Bordovsky QB - Junior - 8/9 passing for 159 yds, 2 TDs, and 11 carries for 84 yds and 4 TDs.  Offensive Line: Paved the way for 300 rushing yards. 

The St. Joseph Flyers defense stepped up big time on Friday night at Memorial Stadium and held Yorktown to 20 points.  The Yorktown Wildcats were averaging 39 points per game this season.  The offense exploded for 63 points and improved to 4-1, while handing Yorktown their first defeat of the season.  District play starts this Friday on the road in Houston as the Flyers take on Houston Second Baptist.  Second Baptist is also 4-1 and is coming off of a 63-0 win over KIPP Generations Collegiate.  It's going to a hard fought game for both teams as the Flyers look to avenge a loss to Second Baptist last year.  Pre game starts at 6:30 and kickoff is at 7.  You can catch all the action of the STJ Flyer Radio Network 98.7 Jack FM.  JACK FM would also like to send a congratulations to the Lady Flyer Volleyball team for beating Needville in 5 sets on Friday night.  The St. Joseph girls and boys cross country teams won the Faith Academy/St. Joseph Cross Country Meet on Saturday at the Victoria Regional Airport.  GO BIG BLUE!
