Days after the horrific police shootings at a peaceful rally in Dallas, Texas, that left five police officers dead, another black man has been killed by police in neighboring Houston, Texas, early Saturday morning (July 9).

According to ABC13.com, two officers were on routine patrol around 1AM when they allegedly confronted a man standing in the middle of the street waving a revolver. When the two officers approached the man, now identified as Alva Braziel, they ordered him to put down his weapon. Braziel allegedly didn’t comply and reportedly pointed the gun in the air and then at officers.

Braziel was reportedly shot 10 times and died at the scene. They were witnesses who saw the incident but there are no actual videos of the shooting. Both officers were wearing body cameras. There is a gas station nearby that reportedly captured the entire incident but that has not been available as the investigation is still ongoing.

Of course, this shooting happened just hours after five officers were killed at a Dallas protest on Thursday (July 7). This is also an eerie reminder of the fatal shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, by the hands of police, in Louisiana and Minnesota, respectively.

This is a developing story. We will update as new details become available.
